Why I Finally Switched to Bidet - And Wish I'd Done It Sooner

When it comes to personal hygiene, most of us don't question our routines - we stick with what we grew up with. But as bidets grow in popularity across the country, more people are starting to ask: Should I switch from toilet paper to a bidet?
I asked myself the exact same question back in 2021 - right when COVID hit and finding toilet paper in stores became struggle. Still, I wasn't ready to make the switch. Honestly, the idea of a bidet felt a bit gross. I didn't trust the system - probably like you don't right now. Am I right?
Back then, I got lucky: Amazon Prime restocked toilet paper, and i ordered enough to get by. So, I stuck with TP... until recently. But every time I had a tough time down there - you know what I mean - I ended up twisting my back and using nearly a whole roll just to fell clean. During those "uh-ho" moments, I used to think: If a bidet can handle this better, why not give it a shot?
Another concern I had was - what if no retails restock the toilet papers in near future say for a while. I knew I wouldn't be that lucky again. That's when I finally started researching bidets - online, in stores, everywhere.
And after digging around, I landed on the Brondell Swash CS 1000 from COSTCO. Yeah literally! I even said to my self "THis is it, I want to land right here."
And let me tell you - I AM NEVER GOING BACK.
Once I installed the bidet (which, by the way, took less than 30 minutes), my first thought was: Why didn’t I do this years ago? The feeling of cleanliness was on a whole different level. No rough wiping, no guessing if you're clean, no using half a roll of toilet paper and still feeling unsure. It was just… better.
After staring to use the Bidet, I was waiting for the little rough bathroom situation so that I can test my bidet and also my skepticism about it. And guess what?
The bidet passed.
I didn't have to exercise my back too much, and I also didn't have to use almost a roll of toilet paper. It felt good that such back bending moments in my life are over unless I am stuck somewhere outside where there is no bidet.
Ahh, I forgot to mention about the best part. I’ve barely touched toilet paper since using the bidet. Just a little for drying off.
That’s it. No more emergency TP runs, no more hoarding during pandemics or any such out of stock toilet paper scenario, no more overspending on something that frankly doesn’t even do the job that well.
Making the switch wasn't just about convenience - it was about confort, hygiene, and peace of mind. If you're still on the fence, I get it - I was too. But trust me, once you experience the difference, you will wonder how you ever lived without it.
